It is the most populous city in El Paso County, with a population of 478,961 at the 2020 census, a 15.02% increase since 2010. The city is the largest city north of Mexico above 6000 feet in elevation. == History == The Ute, Arapaho and Cheyenne peoples were the first recorded inhabiting the area which would become Colorado Springs.
