In the 2016 census, South Brisbane had a population of 7,196 people. == Geography == The suburb is on the southern bank of the Brisbane River, bounded to the north-west, north, and east by the median of the river. Adjoins the suburbs of Woolloongabba to the east, Highgate Hill to the south, and West End to the southwest. Musgrave Park has been for many years a place of congregation for the Murri peoples of south-east Queensland. It is the site of a bora ring that has been buried.
